Govt allocates departments to Law Officers

JAMMU, May 8: In supersession of all previous orders, the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of J&K Government allocated departments to different Law Officers of Jammu Wing of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh.
As per an order, SS Nanda, Senior Additional Advocate General has been allocated Rural Development Department, Jammu Development Authority, Jammu Municipal Corporation, all Public Interest Litigations, Housing and Urban Development Department and Haj and Auqaf Departments. Nanda will be assisted by Assisting Counsels Monika Thakur and Nisha Kangotra.
The order further said that Monika Kohli, Senior Additional Advocate General (AAG) will oversee the litigation works of Home Department, GAD, Revenue Department, Jal Shakti, Estates Department, Tourism Department, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, PIT NDPS, all Habeas Corpus matters (HCP matters may be further reassigned to Law Officer by Senior Additional Advocate General), all arbitration matters (Pawan Dev Singh, Vishal Bharti and Sumeet Bhatia shall assist as assigned by Senior Additional Advocate General), NIA/SIA, J&K Crime Branch, ACB, Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, Finance Department (Sumeet Bhatia and Bhanu Jasrotia shall assist as assigned by Sr. AAG) and J&K Housing Board. Monika Kohli will be assisted by assisting Counsels Priyanka Bhat, Nazia Fazal, Chetna Manhas, and Sagira Jaffar.
Ravinder Gupta, AAG assisted by Pallavi Sharma, Assisting Counsel has been allotted Social Welfare Department, PWD and JKPCC, Higher Education Department, J&K Sports Council, Fee Fixation Committee of Private Schools, J&K IMPA and RDD.
Raman Sharma, AAG has been allocated PDD, J&KSSB, JKPDC, Health and Medical Education Department, Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation Department, Drugs and Cosmetics, School Education Department (District Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri, Doda and Kishtwar) and Election Department. He will be assisted by Assisting Counsels Saliqa Sheikh and Jagmeet Kour.
Dewakar Sharma, Deputy Advocate General (DAG) was allocated SKIMS, Industries and Commerce Department, J&K Handloom and Handicrafts Corporation (including cases of erstwhile Himalayan Wool Combers Ltd), Geology and Mining, SIDCO, SICOP and Civil Aviation Department.
Vishal Bharti, DAG has been allocated Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, Labour and Employment Department and Custodian Department while Pawan Dev Singh, DAG has been given School Education Department (Ramban and Udhampur Districts), Cooperative Department, J&K Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (JAKFED), Hospitality and Protocol Department, Science and Technology Department and ERA.
Sunil Malhotra, Government Advocate has been given Information Technology Department, Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department, Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department, Horticulture Department, School Education Department (Samba and Reasi Districts) and JK BOPEE; Bhanu Jasrotia, Government Advocate was given Skill Development Department, Khadi and Village Industries, J&K Cable Car Corporation, Science and Technology Department and Department of Tribal Affairs; Adarsh Bhagat, Government Advocate was allocated Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Department of Culture and J&K Building and other construction Welfare Board; Eishaan Dadhichi, Government Advocate was allocated Transport Dept, Youth Service and Sports, Road Transport Corporation and J&K Academy of Art and Culture and Sumeet Bhatia, Govt Advocate was given Planning Development and Monitoring Department, School Education Department (Kathua District) and ARI and Training Department, Ranbir Government Press, Jammu and J&K Legal Service Authority.
Also, Rajesh Thappa, AAG has been given litigation works of Agriculture Production /Horticulture Department, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Higher Education Department, RDD, Jal Shakti Dept, JKBOSE, Skill Development Dept, Department of Youth Services and Sports, Estates Department, Department of Science and Technology, Information Technology Dept, Labour and Employment Dept, Industries and Commerce Dept, J&K SSB, Geology and Mining Dept, Finance Dept including J&K and Ladakh Financial Corporation.
Meanwhile, criminal works, involving punishment upto 10 years, have been allocated to DAG Pawan Dev Singh for Jammu district; Vishal Bharti, DAG, for Samba; Sunil Malhotra, Government Advocate, for Kathua; Adarsh Bhagat, Govt Advocate for Doda and Kishtwar, Eishaan Didhichi, Govt Advocate for Ramban and Poonch; Bhanu Jasrotia, Govt Advocate for Rajouri and Sumit Bhatia, Govt Advocate for districts Reasi and Udhampur.
Criminal works, involving punishment of more 10 years, are allocated to Ravinder Gupta, AAG, for Kathua, Jammu and Samba; Raman Sharma, AAG for Doda and Udhampur; Dewakar Sharma, DAG for Reasi and Poonch and Pawan Dev Singh, DAG for Ramban, Rajouri and Kishtwar.
