Governor releases “Mere Hissey Ka Kashmir”

JAMMU, Apr 15: N. N. Vohra, Governor, released a book titled “Mere Hissey Ka Kashmir” at a function held at Raj Bhavan here this evening.
This volume in Urdu has been written by Kashmiri Lal Zakir, a renowned author who has more than 132 books to his credit, including novels, short stories, plays, travelogues, anthologies and varied other subjects. This nonagenarian writer, who has held various important assignments in the field of education and communication, is a recipient of many national and international awards and honors for his outstanding literary contributions over the past six decades.
Mr. Zakir dwelt on the books he has authored so far and those to be published in the near future. On this occasion, he presented to the Governor a set of his books which included “Yeh Khandar Bhi Mere Hein”.
The book release function was attended by well known personalities, writers and  intellectuals, including  Prof. Abdul Wahid, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir; Dr. S. S. Bloeria, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu; Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor; Khalid Bashir, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages; M. Y. Taing, Prof. Ved Kumari Ghai, Ved Bhasin, Prof. Lalit Magotra, President, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu; Prof. Zahoor-ud-Din, Dr. Qadoos Javed, Wali Mohammad Aseer, Dr. Asadullah Wani, Arsh Sehbai, N. D. Jamwal, Prof. Champa Sharma, Khalid Hussain, Prof. Kamlesh Mohan, D. K. Vaid and Mohammad Aslam Qureshi.
