Governor, CM pay tributes to Sheikh Abdullah

JAMMU, Dec 4 N.N. Vohra, Governor, today paid rich tribute to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his birth anniversary and recalled his contribution to the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
In his message, the Governor observed that Sheikh Sahib was a charismatic leader and a social reformer who fought for the rights of the oppressed sections of the society, irrespective of caste, creed or religion. He strived for the sustenance of the secular and pluralistic traditions and strengthening belief in the democratic framework.
The Governor said that the maintenance of communal harmony and brotherhood would be a most befitting tribute to Sheikh Sahib.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah paid rich tributes to Late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his birth anniversary falling on December 5.
In his message on the eve of Sheikh Sahib’s birthday, Omar Abdullah said that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah struggled throughout his life for the welfare and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. He prayed for the peace and development in the State.
