Hundreds of people from Christian Community participated in the solemn ‘Way of the Cross Enactment’ in the city roads, while reciting the historical details of Jesus Crucifixation trying to walk along with Jesus on his way to crucifixion.
A scene of Jesus carrying the deadly cross was made alive with the help of the youth members and the gathering followed the scene, stopped at every station of the cross and mourned the death of their saviour.
There was a long prayer service to listen to the biblical narrative of the passion of Jesus, including the veneration of the Cross. After the passion readings the faithful catholic received the Holy Communion.
The choir led the sorrowful liturgy with meaningful songs and prayers. The faithful who had fasted for the last 40 days at last broke their fast after the service.
At the end of four hours very pious prayer service in a very special way praying for the peace of Jammu and Kashmir, Rev Fr Varkey TJ gave the final blessings to the congregation.
