NEW DELHI, Feb 27 : Gold prices on Friday rose Rs 890 to Rs 1,60,599 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for April delivery traded higher by Rs 890, or 0.56 per cent, at Rs 1,60,599 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 7,735 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said.
Globally, gold futures rose 0.26 per cent to USD 5,199.66 per ounce in New York. (PTI)
