SRINAGAR, Nov 11: The Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and GMC Anantnag today directed all faculty members, heads of departments, paramedical staff, and students to identify and label their lockers with their name, designation, and code by November 14.
The directions were issued through a circular by the Administrator of Associated Hospitals, Srinagar and Medical Superintendent, GMC, Anantnag.

It stated that after the specified date, the Medical Superintendents of SMHS Hospital, RMOs of respective floors, and the Estates-cum-Transport Officer of GMC Srinagar “will inspect and remove surplus lockers occupying hospital and college corridors.”
The circular further warned that employees who fail to identify their lockers “will not have any claim over them.”
Additionally, Section Officers, Estates Officers, and the Accounts Section have been instructed not to issue any LPC, NOC, or service book on employee transfers until lockers are properly handed over.
The move aims to streamline space usage and maintain order in the corridors of GMC and SMHS Hospital premises, the circular stated.
Meanwhile, in a separate notice, the Medical Superinte-ndent of GMC Anantnag issued similar directions.
“It is hereby ordered that all HoDs should identify the lockers/almirahs in their respective departments/wards, and get the name of the staff to whom it is allotted pasted on it. Any unidentified locker/almirah not owned by anyone should be reported to the undersigned,” the notice read.
