JAMMU, Nov 9: Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, GMC Jammu, in collaboration with ISA Jammu City Branch, organized an enlightening Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on “ABG and Electrolyte Management”.
The session was led by the speaker Dr Parveen K Jain, MD, FCCCM, AFIC, chairman: Critical Care Education Foundation, founder president: Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, founder Chancellor: College of Critical Care Medicine. The event was attended by over 70 attendees, including HoDs, consultants, anesthesiologists from heath, residents and postgraduates from GMC Jammu, ASCOMS, Narayana Hospital and AIIMS Jammu.
The event began with the lamp lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana performance by post graduate students of GMC Jammu. This was followed by a welcome address by Dr Anita Vig, HoD Anesthesia, GMC Jammu, highlighting the value of session with respect to critical care.
Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Principal GMC Jammu, graced the occasion as a chief guest and further engaged the audience, stressing the role of communication in critical care and emergency management.
Dr Jain delivered an in-depth and practical overview of the interpretation of arterial blood gases and the management of common electrolyte disturbances encountered in perioperative and critical care settings. The interactive session was highly engaging.
The program was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr Rajesh Mahajan, Dr Madan Katoch, Dr Renu Wakhloo, Dr Ashwani Kumar, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Wani , Dr Arti Mahajan, Dr Vishal Kant, Dr Vishal Gupta, Dr Sanam Kassana, Dr Anshu, Dr Anu Manhas.
The CME aimed to enhance understanding of acid-base balance and promote evidence-based decision-making in routine anesthesia and intensive care practice. Dr Ranika Manhas and Dr Heena Saini ensured the smooth conduction of the event.
The event concluded with an enthusiastic discussion and a vote of thanks to the speaker for his valuable insights and contribution to continuous learning within the anesthesiology community by Dr Updesh Kumar, general secretary, ISA Jammu.
