SRINAGAR, Apr 2: The Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has directed all Heads of Departments (HoDs) to stop submitting individual attendance reports for medical interns, citing delays in stipend payments.
The directive was issued by GMC’s Chief Accounts Officer to streamline the process and ensure timely disbursement of stipends.
“The practice of submission of individual attendance reports of medical interns by all the Heads of Departments needs to be stopped immediately as the process is time-consuming and sometimes stipend of many interns remains unpaid due to this,” the circular states.
To address this issue, interns will now get their monthly attendance signed in a single proforma by all the HoDs where they were posted during the reporting month. HoDs have been asked to instruct interns under their supervision to adhere to this revised system.
