MANJAKOTE, Oct 13: Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri today installed an advanced AI-based health kiosk at the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) Manjakote with an objective of improving the rural healthcare.
The kiosk was inaugurated by the Principal GMC Rajouri, Dr A S Bhatia, in the presence of MLA Muzaffar Iqbal Khan, Chief Accounts Officer Ashraf Hakla, HoD Community Medicine Dr Syed Shuja Akhtar Qadri, and Medical Superintendent Dr Shamim Ahmad.
The hPod, developed by IHL, is an award-winning and clinically validated digital health kiosk designed to screen up to 44 health parameters through both non-invasive and invasive tests.
It is compliant with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and integrated with the Unified Health Interface (UHI), offering features like tele-consultation, electronic medical records, and disease management programs.
The system provides quick, accurate, and digital health assessments, including checks for blood pressure, ECG, BMI, body fat, glucose, lipid profile, malaria, dengue, hepatitis, and more. Instant digital and printed reports are generated for real-time sharing with healthcare providers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhatia said the initiative reflects GMC Rajouri’s commitment to bringing advanced healthcare technology to the grassroots level, empowering rural residents to monitor their health proactively.
MLA Muzaffar Iqbal Khan appreciated the effort, saying the integration of such technology ensures that rural communities remain connected to modern medical care.
The new facility is expected to significantly strengthen primary healthcare and enable early disease detection in the Manjakote area, bridging the rural-urban healthcare gap.
