JAMMU, Sept 11: There is a good news for the people of Kathua and adjoining areas as the Government Medical College (GMC) Kathua has got 1.5 Tesla MRI Machine to serve the patients.
In a letter in this regard Deputy General Manager (P&S), J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Limited today requested the Principal GMC Kathua for the site readiness for the machine.
The Deputy GM informed the GMC Principal that Administrative Department has allocated funds under ‘Machinery & Equipments’ for the procurement of 1.5 Tesla MRI Machine for the medical institute and sought confirmation regarding the same from the head of the GMC Kathua along with the availability of the site readiness.
The grand total price for the machine including taxes and 5 per cent adm charges came out to be Rs. 179843461.08.
It is pertinent to mention here that MLA Kathua, Bharat Bhushan had raised this issue regarding the need of the machine in the GMC Kathua in the J&K Legislative Assembly and the Government had given assurances.
The keen interest of Union Health Minister and Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh remained praiseworthy in this regard.
