JAMMU, Aug 23: The Department of Pediatrics, GMC Jammu, in collaboration with IAP Jammu and Kashmir State Branch, organised a Basic IAP NRP FGM certification workshop at SMGS Hospital, here today.
An interactive and skill enhancing hands on training was given to all the 30 participants who included IAP Fellows, Senior Residents, Postgraduates, Sisters and MTS from both Pediatrics and Gynae Departments. The Workshop was done after all the participants passed an online pretest.
The course was coordinated by Dr Sanjeev Digra Professor and State Academic Coordinator for Basic NRP. Dr Virender Singh was Course coordinator. The teaching faculty included Dr Subhash Slathia (Lead Instructor), Dr Virender Singh, Dr Anumodan Gupta and Dr Ajay Choudhary.
On this occasion Dr Ghanshyam Saini, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, apprised all the participants of the importance of this training that would empower the health workers in saving neonates and ensuring their intact survival, thus helping in further reducing the Neonatal Mortality Rate.
The workshop was conducted with the support of Indian Academy of Pediatrics NRP program.
