GMC gets AERB license to start Cath Lab

JAMMU, Mar 10: The newly installed Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) at Government Super Speciality Hospital (SSH) Jammu will be operational from coming Monday as the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) has issued license for its operation in favour of Principal, GMC Jammu.
Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Principal GMC Jammu told Excelsior that today they have received license from AERB to operationalize the Cath Lab. Dr Gupta said the wait is over now and from coming Monday, they will start taking patients and doing procedures in the newly installed state-of-the-art Cath Lab.
Dr Gupta said the new Cath Lab is equipped with the latest technology, enabling the Cardiology Department of SSH, which operates under Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, to perform a wide range of high-end cardiac procedures.
Excelsior had reported in its March 8 edition that the installation of the Cath Lab at SSH has been completed and it is expected to become operational soon as the Hospital administration is currently awaiting licensing approval from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB).
