Glowing tributes paid to Deen Dayal Upadhayaya

JAMMU, Sept 25: The 125th birth anniversary of former president Bharatiya Jana Sangh,(BJS)  Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayaya was celebrated with great enthusiasm and charm today.  In this connection a grand function was held at BJP Headquarters Kachhi Chawni here today in which glowing tributes were paid to late leader by Party leaders.

On the occasion the portrait of Deen Dayal Upadhayaya was garlanded by Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, BJP State president & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul, MLC Ashok Khajuria and other senior leaders of the Party.

Paying tributes to late leader Dr Nirmal Singh said he had variety of qualities as a son, a student, as a colleague and as a leader. He was a personality of high values and became an ideologue for nationalist forces, he added.

He said the present generation should take an inspiration from his life and adopt his noble principles and emulate his simple way of life.

Dr Singh, while terming Mr Upadhayaya as a strong votary of classless society,  asked the Party leaders and workers to follow his footprints and carry forward his philosophy of Ekatamvaad.

Maintaining that BJP which is a coalition partner in the State Government is strictly following the principles of Pt. Upadhayaya, Dr Singh reiterated that BJP will never compromise on the national interests in the State.

Jugal Kishore Sharma while recalling the life long struggle of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayaya said that although this great nationalist leader who was the founder general secretary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) led a simple life but he was a man of high principles and values which earned him universal respect.

Jugal said the entire life of this great leader was dedicated to national cause and he proved that hardships can’t be obstacle in moving forward.

Ashok Koul said that Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayaya was an institution in himself and a lot can be learnt from his entire life which went through different ups and downs but could not deviate him from his mission of working for the nation and strengthening the social bonds.

Ashok Khajuria said mere remembering such great leaders once in a year is not enough and each day should be devoted towards his principles and ideology to built a strong nation. BJP leaders Chander Mohan Sharma, Aseem Gupta, MLA Sat Sharma (CA), Usha Choudhary, Mamta Singh, Satish Sharma, Dr Nirmal Kamal, Bansi Lal Bharti, N D Rajwal, Balbir Ram, Shilpi Verma and others paid tributes to late leader.
