JAMMU, Jan 31: With an objective to strengthen preventive healthcare, nutrition awareness, and globally recognised health education in the region, India’s first Global Health & Diet Centre was launched in Jammu.
The centre was launched in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
Addressing a press conference, Dr Gurmeet Gujral, authorised Director of the Global Health & Diet Centre, Jammu, said, “The centre has been established to address the growing burden of lifestyle-related disorders such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, thyroid imbalance, digestive problems and stress-related conditions.”
“The centre will focus on early intervention, lifestyle correction and scientific nutrition guidance, while also creating trained health and wellness professionals at the grassroot level,” said Dr Gujral.
S K Singh, founder of the Global Edu-Leaders Forum (GEL), said that the centre has been formally authorised under GEL to ensure credibility, global standards and international acceptance.
He stated that the internationally accredited certification programs in health, nutrition and lifestyle wellness offered by the centre are designed to provide skill-based education and employment opportunities, while maintaining uniform global benchmarks.
Sharing the international perspective, Dr Beatrice Lucia Salvador Bizotto, Global president of Global Edu-Leaders Forum and Head of GEL’s Brazilian Centre for Global Health said, “The launch of the Global Health & Diet Centre in Jammu reflects GEL’s commitment to expanding access to quality health education across regions.”
The centre will offer personalised wellness services and specialised programs for students, senior citizens, corporate professionals, fitness enthusiasts and aspiring health professionals.
The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to preventive healthcare efforts and position Jammu as an emerging centre for globally recognised health and wellness education.
