JAMMU, Dec 2: A girl was raped on the pretext of marriage by a man in Dabbar area, falling under the jurisdiction of RS Pura police station.
As per police sources, a girl hailing from Dabbar village lodged a complaint with police station RS Pura that Satish Kumar, son of Babu Ram, a resident of same village, raped her on the pretext of marriage.
Acting over the complaint, a case under Section 376 RPC was registered with police station RS Pura and investigation started.
The girl was handed over to family members after conducting medical examination, the reports of which were awaited.
However, the accused was not arrested when last reports were compiled.
