JAMMU, Jan 18: A young girl hailing from RS Pura allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a bridge on river Tawi, falling under the jurisdiction of Nehru Market police post.
As per reports, 21-year-old Rajni Bala, daughter of Tilak Raj of RS Pura, jumped from a bridge on river Tawi.
On getting information, police team from Nehru Market police post rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced her as brought dead.
The body has been shifted to mortuary of the hospital for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow. After completing legal formalities, the body will be handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Nehru Market police post and investigation started.
