JAMMU, Oct 2: A girl was gang-raped by three persons when she was alone at her home in Shankar Colony area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station. However, police arrested all the three accused involved in the crime.
As per police sources, a family hailing from chattisgarh, presently residing in Shanker Colony lodged a written complaint with police station Gangyal stating that their daughter has been gang-raped by three youths namely Rahul Mehra, Rajan Mehra and Naresh Kumar, all residents of Shankar Colony.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 110/16 under Section 376 (G) RPC was registered at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
The girl was restored to family members after conducting medical examination.
On specific information, a team from Gangyal police station conducted raid and nabbed all the three accused.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
