KATHUA, May 13: A girl drowned in the Ravi river at Gugal village of Basohli when she had gone to wash clothes on the river today.
She has been identified as Madhu Rani, 21, daughter of Krishan Chand of village Gugal in Basohli tehsil of Kathua district. Police said that while washing the clothes she slipped into the river and drowned. Her dead body was later fished out from the water by the villagers.
She was taken to Sub District Hospital Basohli for autopsy. After the legal formalities her body was handed over to family for the last rites by the police. The Basohli Police has registered a case under Section 174 RPC in this regard.
