RAJOURI, Feb 23: A young girl died by gunfire at her residence in Sunderbani area of Rajouri district today.
As per family sources Shivani (21), daughter of Girdari Lal, was fiddling with licensed .12-bore gun of his father at her Sunderbani residence when it went off, causing injuries on her abdomen.
She was rushed to local Sunderbani hospital and later referred to Government Medical College hospital, Jammu, for specialized treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries in Jammu hospital.
The police registered a case and started investigation. A police official, however, said that the victim later claimed that she tried to commit suicide using gun of his farther. The cause behind this act is being investigated by police.
