Girja Pandit Bhanwanishestranam hits stands

JAMMU, July 27: Bhanwanishestranam composed and sung by versatile and devotional singer Girja Pandit has hit the stands. The album was released by spiritual saint Nirmala Pandit at a simple but impressive function held in Mumbai.
The function was attended by galaxy of singers, intellectuals and music lovers. The album is a tribute to Maa Durga and her thousand forms and names. Girja who came to prominence after singing various Hindi and Kashmiri Bhajans over a decade back has so far 60 albums of devotional songs to her credit.
Born in a Kashmiri Brahmin family, Girja was highly influenced by her saintly father Pt Janki Nath Koul. Right from her childhood she had inclination towards sprituality and bhajan’s. She was also awarded by Begum Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah for singing in a school competition during her childhood in her hometown Anatnag in sixties.
Girja, who is gifted with immense musical talent has also sung for T- Series and was among the top 10 T -Series singers which included Ghulam Ali and others. She has also sung Audio Video Company Chenai, Tamil Nadu, UTV pictures and also given music direction to various albums.
Girja, who started composing, writing and singing devotional songs on her own has devotional albums like Panchastavi , Shivstrotravali , Sant Kabir Vani , Sai Mera Rangrez etc with all leading musical companies.
