Girdari Lal Dogra Trust disburses scholarship to students

JAMMU, Feb 3: Girdari Lal Dogra Trust today disbursed Rs 5.76 lakh scholarship to 96 financially weak students of Girdari Lal Dogra Memorial (GLDM) Degree College, Hiranagar.
A programme was organised by GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar in collaboration with trustees members of Dogra Trust in the college premises wherein nearly 96 financially weak and needy students of the colleges were awarded with the scholarship of Rs 5.76 lakh.
Earlier, a floral tribute was paid to Late Girdari Lal Dogra, the former Finance Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir by Prof Kuldeep Singh Koushal, Principal of the College and trustee members including Manish Dogra, Gourav Khurana and the College staff.
The overall programme was organised under the supervision of Prof Ajay Kumar Sharma, Head of Hindi Department and Convener Financial Aid Committee with able support of committee members and the college staff. He also compared the programme.
On this occasion, some beneficiary students expressed their views about the significance of financial aid and how the given money will help them in near future to coup the difficulties being faced by the economically weak students.
The Principal thanked the Girdari Lal Dogra Trust for providing such financial assistance to the needy students and he advised the beneficiary students to make use of the scholarship money judiciously.
