RAJOURI, Sept 23: The J&K Wildlife department and Police team today captured a giant python (big snake) weighing nearly 55 kilograms from Manpur forests in tehsil Nowshera of district Rajouri J&K.

Reports said some villagers saw a python in Manpur forest area and then they informed Police Station Nowshera. After receiving information the teams of Police and Wildlife department rushed to Manpur village in Nowshera tehsil and launched an operation to capture the giant python in the forest area.
Wildlife official Rajesh Kumar disclosed that the joint team after an hour long operation captured about four-and-a-half-metre Python from the forest. It weighed 50-55 kilograms. The Python had killed and swallowed a jackal but later vomited it out.
