
Sham highlights importance of honouring martyrs

JAMMU, Nov 14: A historic event took place today as the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Paloura, was officially renamed in honor of the brave martyr, NK Raghubir Singh Manhas. This renaming ceremony serves as a lasting tribute to courage and sacrifice of the martyr, ensuring that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
The ceremony was graced by , Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Jammu North constituency as chief guest, along with the wife of martyr, Kamlesh Devi , and several distinguished dignitaries, including Director of School Education, Ashok Sharma ; former Rajya Sabha MP, Shamsher Singh Manhas ; CEO Jammu, Jagdeep Padha ; Principal of the School, Shikha Malhotra ; Mandal Adhyaksha, Suresh Khajuria; ex-Sarpanch, Balbir Singh Manhas and other guests.
The event included a soulful cultural programme and an insightful presentation highlighting the life, bravery, and sacrifices of NK Raghubir Singh Manhas , Recalling his dedication to the nation and his selfless service, the speakers said his story of valour continues to inspire, especially the youth, who will now receive their education in a school bearing his name.
In his address, Sham Sharma spoke about the importance of honouring martyrs and ensuring that their legacy is preserved for future generations. He commended the Jammu and Kashmir administration for taking this important step and expressed his gratitude to all those who worked tirelessly to organize the event.
Sharma emphasized the need for the younger generation to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of brave soldiers like NK Raghubir Singh Manhas. He further stated that this renaming serves as a symbol of our collective respect and gratitude, reminding us all of the immense contributions made by our soldiers in safeguarding the nation.
Sham Lal Sharma also noted that the renaming of the school is a gesture not just to honour the martyr but to strengthen the bond between the people of Jammu North and the values of patriotism, service, and sacrifice that NK Raghubir Singh Manhas upheld.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Rajya Sabha MP, expressed his deep pride in the renaming of the school, emphasizing the importance of remembering and honouring our martyrs.
