SAMBA, Sept 3: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing four bovine animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal.
Police said acting on an information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal at Naka Tapyal, signalled to stop one Mahindra Bolero load carrier bearing Registration No. JK08J/9585 for checking. Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle but was chased by alert cops within a few meters away from Naka Point.
After checking the vehicle, four bovine were found laden inside the Mahindra which were tied in an inhumane manner.
The vehicle loaded with animals was seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 127/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
