SAMBA, Dec 9: Ghagwal Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 11 bovine animals.
According to reports a police party of PS Ghagwal headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal under close supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Samba and on the directions of Raja Adil Hamid, , I/C SP Samba during vehicle checking at Naka Tapyal, signalled to stop a truck bearing Registration No. JK02AC-2576, which, was coming from Kathua side. The driver instead of stopping the vehicle accelerated its speed and tried to escape from the spot but after chase the driver abandoned the vehicle at Sandhwari, Jatwal and escaped from the spot. During checking of the vehicle, 11 bovine animals were found laden inside the vehicle, which were being transported illegally without any permission.
The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized on spot and a case FIR No. 104/2017 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation is going on.
