JAMMU, Mar 12: G G M Science College, Jammu in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society, Department of Health and Medical Education, Jammu organized One-Day Training Programme on HIV/AIDS for the teaching faculty, here today.
Prof (Dr) N K Resutra, Nodal Principal, Jammu Division Colleges was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme was inaugurated by the Principal in presence of Sabiha Iqbal, Assistant Director, Mainstreaming, J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society, Jammu; Pallvi Singh, Project Director, JK Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses and Prof (Dr) Rajinder Singh, NSS Programme Officer.
The awareness programme on HIV/AIDS was attended by teaching faculty of the College.
Earlier, Prof (Dr) Rajinder Singh, NSS Programme Officer presented welcome address.
The chief guest in his address appreciated the role of JK AIDS Control Society in spreading the message against this deadly infectious disease and advised for organizing more such programmes not only for the teachers but for the students as well.
Pallvi Singh, Resource Person gave a detailed informative lecture on HIV/AIDS, the cause of its spread and the remedial measures to be undertaken in order to control this menace. She also gave reply to the queries made by the teaching staff.
Later, Sabiha Iqbal lauded the efforts of the Principal and the College Administration is organizing the programme.
Prof (Dr) Satish Bhan, IQAC Convener presented vote of thanks.
