JAMMU, Aug 31: Maintaining that it is high time for the Government of India for abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A of Indian Constitution, Panun Kashmir (PK) today said that opinion in the country is also in its favour as the majority of people in the country want that these two articles granting special constitutional position to J&K which in turn gave rise to secessionist movement in the State should go now.

This was stated by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo president PK and its national spokesperson Virender Raina while talking to reporters here, today. They said the majority opinion in the country favours that the two articles should be abrogated from the Indian Constitution as they have given the rise to secessionist movement in the State.
Ashwani Chrungoo who was on the tour of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi said the people in these states are also on the same page as are the majority of nationalist people of J&K State hence Article 35A and 370 have no relevance as they tend to create a State within a State and should be abrogated as early as possible.
Chrungoo, who strongly advocated for the rights of displaced Pandits leading an exiled life for last 28 years within their country said the carving of a separate homeland as per the Marg Darshan resolution of 1991 is the only viable solution of the problems of indigenous people of Kashmir. The two articles have the potential to reinforce the absurdity of the so called sub nationalism drawing its inspiration from Muslim majoritarianism, he added.
He said the separate homeland for Pandits within Valley would also work as a bulwark against the anarchic forces sponsored by Pakistan and also against expansionist expression of China in the J&K.
Chrungoo said people of the country also wanted that every sort of terror activity should end in Kashmir. The assertion of US to see an end to Islamic terrorism and see India a bright spot in the world is being appreciated by the people of India at large. The KPs express their deep gratitude to the overwhelming response of the nationalist forces for the concern they are  showing to the Kashmir imbroglio.
Castigating the statement of the National Conference (NC) leaders regarding the mass exodus of the KPs from their historic habitat, Kashmir, PK national spokesperson Virender Raina said the resolution passed by the State Assembly regarding the mass exodus on the Holocaust Day of the Pandits is the reply to these leaders who try to justify their failure in the 1989-90 situation in J&K.
He said it needs to be clarified that the ruling alliance in J&K in 1989-90 can’t be absolved of its gross failures towards the Pandit community. It is in this context that PK has made a strong demand for constitution of a Special Crimes Tribunal to go into the excesses committed against the Pandits in Kashmir. The findings of the Tribunal would bring before the world community the conniving role of the ruling alliance so far as the ethnic cleansing of the KPs is concerned, he added.
