Geeta Jayanti Mahotsav celebration held at Surdass Ashram

JAMMU, Dec 1: A grand function was held today at Swami Surdass Ashram Sari near here in connection with over fortnight long celebration Geeta Jayanti Mahotsav. The Geeta Jayanti Mahotsav this year is being held across world under the guidance of Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj of Geeta Parivar from November 25 to December 11.
The function was organised by Geeta Parivar Jammu Branch. The function started with Prayer of Lord Krishna followed by recorded video address of Dr Ashu Goyal the International working president of Parivaar and group recitation of Shlokas from Bhagawat Geeta.
Speaking on the occasion Rajinder Kumar Pandita expressed his gratitude to the Geeta Parivar for taking the Bhagwat Geeta to every household in a mission mode by following the Swami Ji’s clear objective to read Geeta, teach Geeta and live with Geeta.
He said Geeta Parivaar has used technology for teaching Vedic Ucharan of Bhagawat Geeta in online Mode in 22 timeslots of 40 minutes per hour in a day mainly keeping in view the different time zones of the participants living in various countries like US , UK Europe, Canada and other countries.
He said Saral Pathaniya Bhagawat Geeta published by Geeta Parivaar was also displayed to the gathering. On the occasion a drawing competition and quiz competition on Lord Krishna, Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta and Mahabharta was also held among the school children, who participated in good numbers and the children who stood first, second and third in the competition were gifted with Bhagawat Geeta each. The function culminated with Prarthana (prayers) and recitation of Hanuman Chalissa. The gathering was also served with Prasad.
