UDHAMPUR, Mar 26: One day national seminar on ‘Technology Tradition, Heritage & Culture: Concoction for Consciousness-Progression, identity formation subjectivities’, was organized at Government Degree College Udhampur, which was attended by a galaxy of academicians from various universities and institutions, across India.
Prof R P Tandon, an eminent educationist and Head Department of Physic and Astrophysics, University of Delhi, delivered key note address. He said that Science is going to be magic and in near future almost everything will become possible.
“Non-biological intelligence will become more capable than biological intelligence even as this may present a dreadful scenario,” he said and predicted that everyone born after 2010 is going to live for more than hundred years and human beings will not be allowed to drive cars on highways.
Chief guest Prof Ashok Sharma delivered lecture on Nano Technology and Science which enhanced the academic level of the students as well as the scholars. Dr Garima Gupta made an impressive presentation as guest lecture on the theme of the Seminar using visuals and advertisements.
Other prominent speakers in the inaugural session included Prof Ashok Sharma, Professor and Chairman Department of Material Science and Nano Technology, DCR University of Science and Technology Sonipat; Prof Parkash Garhwal, National Coordinator NSS, University of Indore; Dr Garima Gupta, Dr Shashi Pathania and Dr Vishav Raksha, NSS Coordinator, Jammu University.
Earlier, Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Nutan Kumar Resutra, presented welcome address and said, “At the end of the day, we all are going to be much wiser which is the real motto of the seminar.” He also focused on the achievements of the College.
The function commence with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and melodious Mata’s Bhajan by Dansali Bhandhu, the songs of legendry Bhaint singer Ghulam Mohd Dansalia.
Dr Rippy Bawa and Dr Kamaldeeep Kaur were the organizing secretaries of the seminar. Other faculty members, present on the occasion, included Dr Udhey Bhanu, HoD Mathematics; Dr Bhavnaish Chand, HoD Physics; Prof B L Thakur, HoD Education; Prof Romesh Kumar Atri, HoD Botany; Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra, Associate Professor Physics; Dr Anil Khajuria, HoD Zoology; Dr Ved Kumar, HoD Chemistry; Prof Naresh Sharma, HoD English and Dr Vipul Chalotra, HoD Commerce.
