JAMMU, Apr 17: In a progressive stride towards gender parity and women empowerment, Shri Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College, Samba hosted a panel discussion and felicitation ceremony on the theme “Building a More Inclusive Future: Empowering the Women of Jammu and Kashmir.” The event was held in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, Samba, Take One Television Network, and Jamkash Trucking Pvt. Ltd.
Programme started with welcome address by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, who reiterated the college’s commitment to nurturing morally upright and socially responsible youth in alignment with the theme of inclusivity.
Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of creating a conducive educational ecosystem where young women are encouraged to lead with confidence.
Dr. Ritu Singh, a renowned social activist, who was the special invitee, chaired the panel. In her address, she advocated for inclusivity as a social responsibility rather than charity, urging the youth to become active contributors to nation-building by fostering respect, compassion, and equality in all spheres of life.
Mitali Gupta, a leading nutritionist, discussed the pivotal role of holistic health and balanced nutrition in empowering women.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by convener Women Development Cell, Prof. Sarabpreet Kour.
