JAMMU, Feb 5: Gujjar Bakerwal Employees Association (GBEA), J&K unanimously constituted its organizational structure and formally announced the convening of its First Convention (GBEA-26) on February 8, 2026, at Jammu.
As per the unanimous decision, Ch Mohammad Asad Noomani, resident of Poonch, has been elected as UT president of the Association, Ch Farooq Ahmad Khatana from Ganderbal, vice president, Ch Mehraj-ud-Din Poswal of Kupwara, general secretary while Ch Mushtaq Ahmed Thakiri was nominated as chief organiser.
For Jammu Province, Zaheer Abbas Choudhary was appointed as province secretary and Jaffar Chouhan, vice president, Jammu Province.
The Association clarified that the remaining members of the UT, provincial and district-level bodies will be announced during the first convention.
The newly elected UT president stated that the responsibility entrusted upon him was both an honour and a commitment to work selflessly for the welfare of all employees of the community, irrespective of region, department or designation.
