GBDYB terms demolition drive illegal

JAMMU, Feb 3: Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakarwal Desh Youth Body (GBDYB) termed the demolition drive at Sidhra illegal and unjustified and demanded action against men behind the incident.
Addressing a press conference, Chowdhary Nazaket Khatana, State president, GBDYB said that the poor people, who are residing at Sidhra for more than five 10 ten years were ruthlessly cane-charged by police.
He added that the JDA demolished all the permanent and temporary houses of poor people, who are having ration cards and electric connection and had raised construction with prior permission from the JDA authority.
“An inquiry should be initiated in the matter and action should be taken against JDA Director Babu Ram, who is main person behind the incident”, Khatana demanded.
He appealed to the Chief Minister and Minister Rigzin Jora to look into the matter and provide justice to the poor people of Anantnag, Uri, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch and 1971 BPL families of PoK, who were putting up in Sidhra and were made homeless by the untimely action of the JDA.
Among others present were Asrar-ul-Haqs, Choudhary Mushtaq Ahmed, Sikandia Devi, Shagufta Begum, Shabu, Choudhary Abdul Latief, Noor Mohd Malik, Shabir Ahmed Qadir, etc.
