Gautam Adani visits Godda, inspects 2,300 MW power plant

GODDA, Feb 22 : Industrialist Gautam Adani visited Godda and carried out his first inspection of the power plant located in the district, where electricity generation of 2,300 MW is being undertaken through five units.

During his visit, Adani stated that the establishment of the power plant in Godda was undertaken following the request of local MP Nishikant Dubey, who extended full cooperation in setting up the project. He also indicated that, on Dubey’s request, plans to set up a cement plant in Godda are likely to materialise soon.

Officials informed that the electricity generated at the plant is currently being supplied to Bangladesh, while the possibility of supplying power to other countries is also under consideration. Adani’s visit is expected to accelerate operational momentum at the plant.

He also held a meeting with plant officials and reviewed the functioning of all units during the inspection. Adani said that the commissioning of the power plant has already contributed significantly to the development of Godda, and the proposed cement plant is expected to further boost growth and generate large-scale employment in the region, which would prove to be a milestone for the district.
