Gaudiya Vaishnava Association builds Gaura-Nitai Temple in West Bengal’s Mayapur

KOLKATA, Jan 19: Aiming to spread the humanistic spiritual philosophy of Gaurnga Mahaprabhu, the Gaudiya Vaishnava Association – a congregation of monks of the Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu order – has constructed the Gaura-Nitai Temple in West Bengal’s Nadia district, an official said on Monday.
The temple has come up at Sreenathpur in the holy Mayapur town, said Radharaman Das of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Association.
He said Gauranga Mahaprabhu’s philosophy upholds equality, love and devotion beyond the barriers of caste and creed. So, the principal objective behind establishing the temple is to create a centre dedicated to promoting universal devotion and compassion while addressing social discrimination.
“Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s teachings emphasised the unity of humanity through devotion and mutual love. This temple has been conceived as a platform to highlight his philosophy and its relevance in the modern world,” he said.
The temple has been built under the guidance of Shreela Bhakti Swarup Tirtha Maharaj, a South Indian brahmin and a lifelong follower of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition.
Radharaman Das noted that the spiritual leader has spent his entire life adhering to Sri Chaitanya’s teachings and has travelled extensively across the globe to spread the message of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s inclusive human dharma.
The newly inaugurated temple is located close to the site traditionally believed to be the maternal home of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, adding to its spiritual significance.( UNI)
