Ganga launches developmental works worth Rs 2.50 cr in Vijaypur municipality

SAMBA, Feb 22: Giving a push to infrastructure development in the Vijaypur Assembly constituency, MLA Chander Parkash Ganga today inaugurated multiple projects worth Rs 2.50 crore under the Municipal Committee Vijaypur.
The major works include the construction of a toe wall on both sides of the canal from the auto stand on Ramgarh Road to NH-1 at an estimated cost of Rs 1.50 crore. The project is expected to ensure water conservation, enhance safety, prevent soil erosion and add to the beautification of the surrounding locality while providing convenience to the residents.
Another key project worth around Rs 1 crore comprises tile work and construction of a footpath from the main market Vijaypur to Ramgarh Road. The work will also cover construction of drainage facilities in wards 10, 11 and 13, which is likely to significantly improve the hygiene system, address long-pending drainage issues and streamline vehicular and pedestrian movement.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that ensuring overall development of the constituency and providing better basic facilities to the people remains his top priority. He maintained that the completion of these projects will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the town but also provide clean, safe and modern civic amenities to the residents.
Ganga directed the concerned officers to maintain quality standards and complete the works within the stipulated timeframe. The projects will be executed by the Public Works Department (R&B), Vijaypur.
