VIJAYPUR, Feb 21: MLA Vijaypur, Chander Parkash Ganga along with DDC Chairman Samba, Keshav Dutt Sharma here today inaugurated the newly built Panchayat Ghar of Vijaypur Panchayat.
The project completed at an expenditure of about Rs. 29 lakh will felicitate the PRI members in holding Gram Sabhas and other functions of the Panchayat.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganga said that PM Modi has empowered Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) like no one else did it before and has actually strengthened grass root democracy in J&K which was earlier in the hands of few dynasts.
He said that earlier Panchayats had very poor infrastructure and these even lacked basic building to hold meetings.
BJP Government at the Centre has pushed the infrastructure in Panchayats and empowered PRIs.
Others present on the occasion were DDC member, Shilpa Dubey, BJP Block president, Dheeraj Sharma, BJP ex-chairman, Ganesh Sharma, Deepak Kumar, Municipal Councillor, Ravi Kumar, Rakesh Salathia, BJP ex-block president, Ajay Kumar, Sarpanch Baldev Raj, BJP Mahila Morcha president, Shakti Devi, BJP senior workers, Som Verma, Mangal Sharma, Surekha Jamwal, Mukesh Sharma, Maan Singh, Ashok Kumar, Sachin Balgotra and others.
