POONCH, Feb 16: The police claimed to have busted a gang of vehicle lifters with the arrest of two youth and recovered two stolen cars and a bike from their possession.
On the basis of complaint from one Shabir Ahmed from Daradullain village regarding theft of his car from outside his gate and a few other complaints regarding theft of bike and some other valuable property including laptop, a police party from Poonch led by DySP Headquarters Shahid Nahiem under the supervision of SSP Rajiv Pandey started investigation. The police team picked up about a dozen suspects and two of them broke and they confessed to have stolen two cars and some property.
They were identified as Mohd Rafi, son of Mohd Azam from Kalai and Mohd Iltafa, son of Fazal Hussain, resident of Kalai in Poonch. During their sustained interrogation, they confessed to have stolen some vehicles. Alto car No. JK02N/4161, Maruti car No. JK01C/ 0432 and Pulsar Motor-cycle No. Jk-12/6919 were recovered from their possession. A stolen laptop was also recovered.
The police said some more stolen property is expected to be recovered from their possession in near future. FIR No. 11/ 2018, 12/ 2018 and 8/2018 were pending against them at Poonch. During investigation involvement of two more youth Mohd Qasid and Ateeq Ahmed from Kalai was detected. The police was looking for them.
