Gang of vehicle lifters busted; 5 arrested, 20 stolen two wheelers recovered

JAMMU, June 28: Gandhi Nagar Police busted a gang involved in lifting of vehicles by arresting five persons along with 20 stolen two wheelers.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Chandn Kohli, while investigating a case registered under FIR Number 120/2022 under section 379 IPC with Police Station Gandhi Nagar, information was developed regarding an active gang involved in stealing two wheelers from different parts of Jammu City and then selling them to customers after preparing fake documents.
On this information, various teams were constituted led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma and assisted by PSI Sonu Choudhary under the supervision of SDPO Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma, SSP Chandan Kohli said, adding that the teams worked relentlessly on all the leads to bust the gang.
SSP said that five thieves were identified, arrested and subjected to sustain questioning, adding that on their disclosure, 20 two wheelers have been recovered so far.
“The arrested persons were identified as Amit Sharma alias Lal, son of Prabhu Dutt Sharma of Bhagwati Nagar, Dheeraj Singh, son of Deepak Singh of Gumat kanji House, Nikhil Dogra, son of Ashok Kumar of Qasim Nagar, Munish Kumar, son of Ram Pal of District Jammu and Eshaan Rosotra, son of Late Ajit Raj of Eidgah Road District Jammu”, SSP said, adding that further questioning is underway and more arrests and recoveries are likely to be made in the days to come.
