JAMMU, Sept 6: The 10 daylong Shri Ganesh Chaturthi Parav, a religious function organised by Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust to adore Lord Shri Ganesha culminated here today with Lord Shri Ganesha’s idol immersion in river Chenab.

The celebrations for the fest started on August 27, 2025 by installing a beautiful idol of Lord Ganesha with complete religious fervour by the learned Sanskrit scholars.
The whole function of immersion was organised by S.C Rekhi, Trust general secretary under the guidance of Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and the Trust president.
Special prayers and other rituals were performed daily by the Sanskrit scholars during the 10 days of Ganesh Mahotsav wherein the trustees along with other devotees marked their presence.
On 10th day of the celebrations today, special Maha Pooja was performed at the Mandir where besides the Trust president, member, trustees and special invitees, a large number of devotees also participated.
Thereafter, the idol of Lord Ganesha was taken in a very well decorated vehicle by the Trust president himself along with learned Sanskrit scholars, trustees and devotees for its immersion at Jia Pota Ghat in Akhnoor into the sacred River Chenab following prayers to Lord Ganesha.
Prominent among those who participated in the immersion ceremony were S.C Rekhi, Romesh Thakur, Kapil Slathia, V.K Abrol, P.C Gupta, Sumesh Damral, K.B Magotra, Kiran Rajput, Uma Sharma, Krishan Gupta, Sandeep Singh, Parshant Sharma, Ved Verma, Col. Pushaphas, Gambir Dev Singh and many others.
