JAMMU, May 10: The grand 9th convocation ceremony of the Galgotias University was organized here, in which 5123 students from across the country were awarded degrees in various disciplines.
Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry was the chief guest, while Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak was the special guest.
Addressing the graduates, Piyush Goyal said that India’s young generation possesses the strength to make the country a leader on the global stage.
He stated that this university is included among the world’s top institutions and ranks third in patent filings, which is a major achievement.
“Wherever you stay, brighten your name and your country’s name through your work,” he added and motivated the students to work hard and persist in their struggles, reiterating the commitment to ensure education and healthcare facilities in every Indian household by 2047.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Brajesh Pathak, in his address inspired students to progress in the right direction.
“The Uttar Pradesh Government is continuously striving to promote technical education and innovation, and institutions like Galgotias University are playing a significant role in this direction,” he added.
Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, president of the All India University Council, motivated youth to walk the path of start-ups.
He emphasised on developing business acumen alongside education.
During the convocation, Boat’s co-founder, Aman Gupta also addressed the students.
He inspired them not only to move toward success but also to develop social understanding alongside education.
University Chancellor Sunil Galgotia expressed gratitude to all guests, students and their parents, saying that the university is preparing youth to compete globally through modern methods of education.
He said, “For us, education is not a business but a medium for social change.”
The event was attended by the university’s CEO, Dr Dhruv Galgotia, vice chancellor Prof Babu, Examination Controller Prof Bhattacharya, Registrar Nitin Gaur, parents, students and faculty.
