Free multi-specialty health camp held in Jammu East

JAMMU, July 27: A major free multi-specialty health checkup camp was organized at Chowgan Slathia, Ward No. 1, Jammu East on Sunday, offering a wide range of free medical facilities to the residents of the area.
The health camp was an initiative supported by the Chowgan Slathian Welfare Committee and SIBA Event Management & Innovations Cooperative Ltd in association with several reputed health organizations and clinics, including Sharp Sight Eye Hospitals, Path Square Labs, Embrace Dental, the Indian Association of Physiotherapists Women Cell, the Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Emphoria Clinic, Dr Arora, and Dr Balvinder Singh (MBBS MD Medicine, Physician Specialist).
The initiative was taken by Ram Magotra, senior vice president, DCC Jammu (Urban). Medical services such as general checkups, physician specialist consultations, eye checkups, dental checkups, physiotherapy, general tests like blood pressure sugar screening and free medicines were provided.
Senior Congress leader and ex-MLA Jammu East, Yogesh Sawhney, also visited the camp and interacted with doctors, volunteers and beneficiaries. He appreciated the noble initiative and praised the collective efforts of the organizing bodies and medical professionals involved.
“This is a commendable step toward community welfare. At a time when healthcare costs are rising, such camps are a true service to humanity, especially for underprivileged citizens who may not have easy access to medical services,” Sawhney said.
He lauded the initiative of Ram Magotra and expressed hope that such people-centric healthcare efforts continue to be encouraged and supported at all levels.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from the local population. Residents of Chowgan Slathia and neighboring areas turned up in large numbers to avail the free health facilities being offered. The medical professionals conducted thorough examinations, gave health advice and distributed free medicines as required.
The health camp not only provided immediate relief and care to those in need but also raised awareness about preventive healthcare and regular medical checkups. The effort was widely appreciated by the community.
