Fraudster arrested for cheating Army’s casual labourer, Rs 1,50,800 recovered

JAMMU, Apr 20: Akhnoor Police arrested a fraudster for cheating Army’s casual labourer and recovered amount of Rs 1,50,800.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Akhnoor arrested a fraudster namely Raman Kumar, son of Shiv Dayal, a resident of Melu RS Pura District Jammu for cheating Army’s casual labourer posted in Akhnoor.
The complainant approached the accused for preparing his driving licence. The accused was an operator in Common Service Centre (CSC) and when the complainant approached him for applying for driving licence, the accused took details of his debit card following which transactions were made by accused to the tune of Rs 1,50,800 without the knowledge of complainant and there by cheated him of his hard earned money.
Later, the complainant came to know from bank that his account is debited by said amount and all amount has been transferred to a Paytm account.
On the complaint of the complainant, a case under FIR Number 107/2022 under Section 420 IPC was registered at Police Station and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by PSI Manoj Kumar under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar, SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma arrested the fraudster and entire amount of Rs 1,50,800 was recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
