Four persons arrested with illicit liquor

JAMMU, Mar 31: Digiana, Jhajjar Kotli and Bishnah Police arrested four persons and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from their possession.
As per police sources, during checking a team from Police Post Digiana led by SI Tarsem Raj under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma and SDPO South Sachit Sharma intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK21E-6985.
During checking, police team recovered 53 bottles of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested the rider, who was identified as Darshan Kumar, son of Ram Saran, a resident of Telli Basti Bari Brahmana District Samba.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar apprehended a man along with 18 bottles of illicit liquor, which he was selling to make illegitimate profits.
The arrested person was identified as Sohan Lal, son of Moti Ram, a resident of Kahpotha Tehsil Dansal District Jammu.
In another similar case, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Vinod Kundal under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh arrested two persons along with 50 nips of illicit liquor, which they were selling among the common people to make illegitimate profits.
The arrested persons were identified as Rajesh Kumar, son of Chaman Lal and Sunny Kumar, son of Mulkh Raj, both residents of Sehora Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered against the arrested persons at Police Stations Gandhi Nagar, Jhajjar Kotli and Bishnah and investigation started.
