JAMMU, Nov 26: Four individuals were arrested with over 25 grams of heroin from different areas of Udhampur district today.
A police official said during a routine checking exercise at Tikri, a four-wheeler on way towards Srinagar side from Jammu was intercepted.
On search of three occupants of the car, later identified as Umer Majid of Brein Srinagar, Salman Nissar Mir of Sonawar, Srinagar, and Syed Behzad Ahad Chaura of Indra Nagar Batwara, Srinagar, 22.24 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession, he said.
Accordingly, they were arrested and booked in case FIR number 199/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rehmbal and further investigation taken up, he said.
Meanwhile, in a different operation at Battal Ballian Industrial area, police noticed a biker roaming under suspicious circumstances.
“3.49 grams of heroin was recovered when he was searched,” the police official further said.
Accordingly, he too was arrested and booked in case FIR number 405/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Udhampur, with further investigation set into motion.
