Four drug peddlers held with heroin like substance

ANANTNAG, May 14: Continuing its unwavering crackdown on the drug menace, the district police Anantnag today arrested four individuals involved in drug peddling in separate incidents across the district and recovered heroin-like substances from their possession.
In the first operation, police apprehended a notorious female drug peddler, identified as Khushbu Jan, daughter of Farooq Ahmad Sheikh and resident of Bangidar.
She was caught near Bangidar Bridge with approximately 07 grams of a heroin-like substance.
A case under FIR No. 100/2025 has been registered at Police Station Anantnag under Section 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the investigation is currently ongoing.
In a separate case, two individuals, Nargis, wife of Mohammad Ali, a resident of Bawana JJ Colony, Delhi, and Mohammad Irfan, son of Mohammad Jehangir Khan from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended with 03 grams and 06 grams of heroin-like substances respectively.
FIR No. 104/2025 has been lodged at PS Anantnag under the same NDPS provisions, and further inquiry is underway.
In a third significant breakthrough, Ishfaq Ahmad Hajam, son of Gul Mohammad Hajam, a resident of Saidwara, Dooru Shahabad was arrested after police found him in possession of 06 grams of a heroin-like substance.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 105/2025 at PS Anantnag, and investigations have commenced.
