JAMMU, Apr 7: Police in Jammu Rural apprehended four drug peddlers in two separate naka operations conducted by Police Post Sidhra under Police Station Nagrota.
According to officials, the first operation was carried out near Grid Station Dangyali, where a naka party intercepted an e-auto bearing registration number JK02DS-3718. During checking, police recovered 7.42 grams of heroin, commonly known as “chitta,” from the possession of two accused persons. Both individuals were immediately taken into custody.
In connection with the recovery, a case under FIR Number 97/2026 has been registered at Police Station Nagrota under relevant sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation has been initiated.
In another operation conducted at Batra Chowk, Sidhra, police intercepted an e-rickshaw bearing registration number JK02DL-5053. Upon search, 6.12 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from two persons travelling in the vehicle. The accused were arrested on the spot.
Subsequently, FIR Number 98/2026 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Nagrota in this regard.
Police have also seized both vehicles used in the commission of the offences. Officials stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and network involved in the drug trafficking.
