Four drug peddlers held, 15 g heroin recovered

JAMMU, Mar 30: Jammu (Rural) Police apprehended four alleged drug peddlers in two separate naka operations under Police Station Gharota and recovered a total of 15 grams of heroin-like contraband.
In the first case, a naka laid at Kot Khatrian on March 29 led to the interception of a Maruti 800 (JK02S-3157). During checking, police recovered 4 grams of heroin-like substance from Sunil Singh and Ajay Singh, both residents of Ambaran, Akhnoor. A case under FIR Number 37/2026 has been registered at Police Station Gharota under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
In the second operation on March 30, a naka at Thathi near New Bridge resulted in the interception of a Swift car (JK02BV-1845). During frisking, 11 grams of heroin-like substance were recovered from Sanjeev Singh of Gurha Brahmana and Deepak Sharma of Ambaran, Akhnoor. Accordingly, FIR Number 38/2026 under the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gharota.
All the accused have been arrested and the vehicles used in the crime seized. Police said further investigation is underway to trace the wider drug supply network.
