Four drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU, Nov 7: Miran Sahib, Jhajjar Kotli and Canal Road Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered heroin and poppy straw from their possession.
As per official sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta laid a naka at Simbal Morh and intercepted a bullet motorcycle .
During checking, police team recovered 6 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Ajeet Singh alias Bittu Chaptia, son of Kirpal Singh of Ward Number 1 Simbal Camp District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 149/22 under section 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Samson Bhatti under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar during checking at Suketar intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number PB08BZ-9657 which was coming from Srinagar towards Jammu.
During frisking, police team recovered 10.150 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Lal Chand, son of Darshan Lal of Sham Charasi Hoshiarpur, Punjab and Angrez Singh, son of Sham Singh of Ukhral District Ramban.
A case FIR Number 242/2022 under section 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation initiated.
However, a team from Police Post Canal Road led by PSI Amreek Singh under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Vijay Kumar and DySP Headquarters Swati Sharma during patrolling intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BH-1455.
During checking, police team recovered 6 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused was identified as Hafiz Ali, son of Sultan Ali of Palpat, Rangoora, District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 138/2022 under section 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
