RAMBAN, Nov 4: Sangaldaan and Banihal Police arrested four persons and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
As per police sources, a team from Police Post Sangaldaan during checking intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration Number JK19A-1149.
During checking, police team recovered 5.20 grams heroin from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mohd Mushtaq Shaan, son of Gh Mohd Shaan of Parthmulla Gool District Ramban.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Banihal during checking at T Chowk intercepted a tractor trolley.
During checking, police team recovered 22 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested three persons, who were identified as Inderjit Singh, son of Malagar Singh of Baghor Manki Ludhiana Punjab, Binder Singh, son of Prem Singh of Khamanon Fatehgarh Sahib Punjab and Gorkha Singh, son of Darshan Singh of Tikriwala Tehsil Khamanon district Fatehgarh Punjab.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Gool and Banihal and investigation started.
The arrest and recoveries were made by Incharge Police Post Sangaldan ASI Aakash Magotra and SHO Banihal Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Nisar Ahmed Khoja, SDPO Gool Nihar Ranjan and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
