LEH, Nov 15: The Foundation Day of Jharkhand was celebrated at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat here today.
In this regard a function was held here in which Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson and Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Tashi Gyalson wished the people of Jharkhand on the Foundation Day of their State.
“I got the opportunity to know the state from a close range due to the launch of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra from Khunti, Jharkhand, which is the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, on the occasion of the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas,” he said.
He termed the occasion of the launch of such a big programme from Jharkhand by the PM Modi a moment of pride for the people of the State.
Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal appreciated the visionary Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inculcate a sense of unity and oneness among the people of different states of India and the celebration of Foundation Day of states/UTs in all Raj Bhawans/Raj Niwas.
He stated that it is the Prime Minister’s initiative that the people of Ladakh are getting the opportunity to learn about Jharkhand state from the personnel of the state serving in Ladakh.
A message from the Governor of Jharkhand, CP Radhakrishnan, was also played on the occasion in which he paid tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary.
Secretary, Amit Sharma; DIG Ladakh Police, Sheikh Junaid; SSP Leh, PD Nitya and Government officials were also graced the celebration.
